"Nostalgic it is to hear, oh!
the song of long ago,
when roses were red and violets blue,
growing row by row."
Painting and Poem by Dr Abe V Rotor
Hybrid Roses and Violets in acrylic (17" x 17") AVR 2011
Roses are red, violets are blue,
may no longer be true;
ask not Mendel but GMO,
of this muddled view.
Where have all the bees gone
and the fluttering one,
the lovers in their game picking
petals one one one?
Long ago Vincent Van Gogh
painted Irish blue,
and Monet's flowers were in red hue;
art indeed has its own view.
Nostalgic it is to hear, oh!
the song of long ago,
when roses were red and violets blue,
growing row by row.~
