Still life - one says, when life comes to a stand;
another, scripted life on the table.
Still life - favorite subject of artists old and new,
hanging on the wall, forgotten.
Still life - when we cease to move along,
to be center of attraction,
unmindful of Salvador Dali's Melting Clocks,
and Massenet's Meditation.
Still life - beauty captured and soon lost,
freshly plucked, bound together
into bouquet for fleeting admiration,
orphaned from the Garden forever.~
