Coral Fish

Painting and Verse by Abe V. Rotor

Cover of The Living with Nature Handbook, by AVRotor

Fish bind together among their kind,
among different species, and it does not matter
if they are blue or green or red, or in various hues,
in many shapes and looks- this too, doesn't matter.
coy or bold, or wide-eyed
or smiling sheepishly
at a prey or enemy.

To survive these fish must live in seeming unity
and harmony- the key to biodiversity.
yet each is armed to kill at all cost and risks
for food and safety of its brood, and least,
as you will see, to aim last, if ever,
at its real enemy. ~
