(Zoology) the occurrence in an animal or plant species of two distinct types of individual 3. (Chemistry) a property of certain substances that enables them to exist in two distinct crystalline forms

Dimorphism in insects: winged male and wingless female Orgya bagworm
Dimorphism in fowls: peacock displays highly decorated plumes to woe a peahen
